Agent-driven software for SMEs

Not an agency.
An agent.

Your workflows, as software. Forged with AI agents: in weeks instead of months, at a fixed price, with a single point of contact.

Software that isn't off the shelf. Built in St. Gallen.

Speed

2 weeks

to a first working version you can click through yourself.

Commitment

One agent

from process mapping to operation. The person you talk to writes the code.

Price

Fixed price

after half a day of process mapping. No surprises on the invoice.

Services

Excel was a good start.

At some point the spreadsheet can't cope any more. Then we build the software that maps exactly your workflow, not that of an off-the-shelf product.

01

Quotes and orders

Quotes in minutes instead of in the evening. Line items, prices and post-calculation in one place, connected to your accounting.

02

Planning and scheduling

Who is where, when, with which equipment. A schedule your team sees on their phones and that you no longer have to rewrite every Friday.

03

Customer portal

Your customers see status, documents and appointments themselves. Fewer calls, fewer emails, more time for the work that pays.

Examples

From the workbench.

Two tools we are currently building as our own demos. Not client projects, but proof of what comes together in two weeks. As soon as they run, you can try them here yourself.

Demo · In progress

Quoting tool

Enter line items, send the quote as a PDF, order confirmation and post-calculation from the same data. Built in two weeks, as proof.

Scheduling

Staff, vehicles and equipment in one weekly view. The team sees its assignments on their phones, changes instantly. Built in two weeks, as proof.

Process

Two weeks. Then you click.

  1. Step 01 · Half a day

    Conversation and process mapping

On site at your business. We look at where time is lost today and what the software needs to do.

  2. Step 02 · 3 days

    Fixed price

You receive a quote with a fixed price, a delivery date and what is deliberately left out.

  3. Step 03 · 2 weeks

    First version

You click through a working version with your real data and tell us what needs to change.

  4. Step 04 · Ongoing

    Operation

Runs on your own server, in Switzerland if you wish, or on ours. Maintenance at a monthly price, extensions when your business needs them.

Alexander Schmidt, software engineer, St. Gallen

About

The person you talk to writes the code.

Agent Schmidt is Alexander Schmidt: web developer since 2005, software engineer since 2018, three years as a lecturer at DHBW Mannheim, Master of Science. No agency, no project manager in between: you talk to the person who builds and maintains your software.

The forge works with AI agents. They take on the repetitive parts of programming, testing and documentation. What remains is what matters: understanding your business and making decisions that hold.

Schmidt means smith. The name came first, the forge followed.

Questions

What you want to know first.

How much does software cost?

It depends on the workflow it covers. As a guide: a single tool, such as a quoting tool or a scheduling app, starts at CHF 12,000. Typical projects with several workflows and a link to your accounting cost between CHF 20,000 and 60,000. After the process mapping you receive a fixed price, and it holds. For clients in Germany and Austria we quote in euros.

How much does the process mapping cost?

Nothing. The half day at your business is free and without obligation. For businesses further away we start with a video call and then decide together whether an on-site meeting makes sense.

What does it cost to run afterwards?

From CHF 180 per month for hosting, updates, security monitoring and backups. Extensions are quoted separately at a fixed price; small changes are billed by effort at CHF 175 per hour.

Which businesses is this for?

SMEs with 5 to 50 employees whose workflows currently live in Excel, on paper or in emails. Most often: trades and construction, building services and maintenance, transport and logistics, fiduciaries and property management, small manufacturers and service companies with field staff.

Where do you work?

Throughout Switzerland, Germany and Austria. On site at your business or remotely, whichever suits your business better.

Which languages do you work in?

Conversations, process mapping, quotes and documentation in German or English. By email you can also write to us in French or Italian, and we will reply in your language.

Who owns the software?

You do. You receive the complete source code and all data. Ideally we set up the server in your name. That way everything is in your hands after handover, and you are not tied to anyone, not even us. If you'd rather not deal with it, the software can also run on our servers.

What happens if you're ever unavailable?

Code, data and server are with you, and everything is documented. Any developer can take over. You don't depend on a single person.

Contact

Half a day at your business. Then we'll both know whether it's a fit.

The process mapping is free and without obligation. Afterwards you get an assessment of what a piece of software would bring and what it would cost.
